IMPORTANT: Solid is a developing technology and still at a research / experimental stage. Therefore, if you have a Pod on our platform, please do not make that your only point of storage for vital data.

UPDATE: Inrupt are no longer hosting a pod browser. We are activley seeking alternatives. Meanwhile, we are directing the 'Go to My Pod' button to the local, built-in, pod manager software called Mashlib. It is not especially user friendly, but provides the functionality to manage your Pod, while we seek an alternative interface. Note: Mashlib will require a separate login, just as the Inrupt Pod Browser did. Click to view additional instructions.

If you have logged in here, you will see a 'Go to My Pod' button above. If you click it, you will be redirected to your solid.open.ac.uk subdomain profile page. The interface you see there is Mashlib, the default Pod Manager software that comes built-in to the Solid Server we are hosting.

When you press the 'Go to My Pod' button you will land on your 'Profile' page.

On your profile page, in the top right hand corner you will see a 'Log in' button.
Please click 'Log in'.
You will then see the popup window to 'Select an identity provider'.

Enter 'https://solid.open.ac.uk' into the text field and click 'Go'.
(Ignore the preset buttons below the text field)
Your Profile page should then redraw, with the 'Log in' button gone and a profile menu button on the top-right hand corner:

To see your files, go to the profile menu button and roll-over it.
A menu will appear.
Select 'Your Storage'.

This will take you to a page showing you your folders similar to the one below:

Note: For IoC users, your badges can be found in 'private', then 'badges'.

This site is an instance of a Solid platform. 'Solid is a technology for organizing data, applications, and identities on the web'. The knowledge Media at the Open University is currently conducting research into using Solid in a number of senarios.

'Solid is a specification that lets people store their data securely in decentralized data stores called Pods. Pods are like secure personal web servers for data.
